Santa Cruz - July 2007

Summer school ended on July 20th for me and on July 21st, I drove up to see Kelly, Jeremy, Corban,Dominic, Mykie, and a few friends too.!

Kelly & Jeremy are selling their home and getting ready to move to Santa Cruz. Scotts Valley sure is hotter than I remember! There was room for me to put my airbed on the floor, so I enjoyed even more time with my them. Kelly & Jeremy and Nancy & Erik ran in the annual Wharf to Wharf race. I had Corban & Dominic with me and we drove down to 24th Avenue to watch the race - what fun. Somehow we missed seeing Jer & Erik (can't imagine why with 15,000+ runners!), but we did see Kelly & Nancy run by which was very cool. After the race we went to Tom & Adele's home (they live in Capitola and it is an easy walk for the runners from the finish line). Tom & Adele weren't home, but another aunt and uncle (Chirs & Rosana) were there and had breakfast ready for us. Yummy :-)

Jeremy was still teaching summer school and Kelly is working on her masters so they have a full plate. Spending time with Kelly & Jeremy and the boys was such a treat for me. How fast they grow and not being able to see them as much as we like, it's even more amazing. Dominic crawls like crazy and is beginging to walk too - such a cute age! Corban is quite the grown up big brother -- WOW. He has a scooter that he whips around on.

On Wednesday, I headed down to see Mykie, who lives in the Carmel Valley. Kelly & I and the boys went to the Acquarium on the way down. It has changed so much since I was last there...almost 20 years ago. We enjoyed watching all the different kinds of fish and the boys enjoyed playing with the water activities.

Washington - July 2007

water fun in Becky & Sean's backyard!

Rick flew up to Washington on July 5th. Unfortunately, I was unable to get coverage at work so I didn't fly up until the following day. This was our first time flying using the benefits we have through Horizon -- thanks to Ali!!!!

We celebrated Rick's birthday and enjoyed time with Ali and Becky, Sean, Lucas, Micah, & Ethan. The boys have grown so much since we were there in December; it's amazing!! We spent much of the day on Saturday outside with the boys on their slip & slide. I think Lucas & Micah could spend all day in the water. Ethan wasn't quite as excited about the whole idea. Here are a few shots from that day.

Unfortunately we didn't get to spend too much time with Sean because he was working on the remodel job for their master bath. He's doing a great job; can't wait to see the finished product :-)

On Sunday we went to the airport for our return flight. Getting home took us a little longer than we planned on, but then we knew that we might bumped because that's how flying standby works. And we were flying on a holiday weekend to boot.... so that was no surprise. As it turned out we were unable to get on a flight on Sunday, so we spent the night in Seattle and then tried again on Monday. On Monday we were able to catch a flight to Portland (where it seemed like the chances to travel south were better). From Portland we attempted to catch flights to San Diego.....and we were fortunate enough to be assigned seats on the last flight leaving Portland for San Diego that evening! Rick & I both had good books to keep us occupied, which was a good thing. All in all it was an adventure. We met some really nice people and airports are definitely one of the best places to "people watch".

May 2007

Tim picked me up at the Sacramento airport on May 11th. We drove to Redding to celebrate Dad's birthday, Mother's Day, Mom's birthday, and Father's Day ---- all rolled into one since they're within about a month of each other. While we were there we tried to help Mom & Dad with some things around the house. Here are some picture we took.

Christmas 2005 and Summer of 2006

I took a road trip lasting almost 3 weeks and covering over 3200 miles!!! Rick was able to join me in Washington for about a week, where we enjoyed time with Ali, Becky & Sean and the boys and we also had time to explore Whidbey Island and Birch Bay. And there was a baby shower for Becky while we were there!!

On my way home I stopped in Scotts Valley to spend s few days with Kelly, Jeremy, Corban, and Dominic. While I was there, we spend a day at Bonfonte Gardens - what fun!! We are blessed with a wonderful family and love to spend as much time with them as possible, which is never enough!!!!

October 2006

Rick & I spent the weekend at our timeshare in Indio to celebrate our 34th anniversary. While there we rode the tram up the mountain - what an awesome view!

November 2006

Rick & I drove up to Scotts Valley to see Kelly, Jeremy, Corban, and Dominic. We had a soccer bean bag to deliver for Corban's 3rd birthday!! We always love spending time with family.
